Greener Grass
I looked for you,
everywhere I could.
Maybe I'll call,
I feel like I should.

I was so in love,
you seem so different now.
You were cocky, self assured,
and now I wonder how,

how do I carry on?
And what should I say?
Could I try to make it work,
or should I run away?

I called your house,
to ask about you,
and about a date,
for just we two.

But you wern't there,
not even in sight,
Now I raise the blinds,
and let in the light.

I'll wait for you now,
and if you don't call,
I'll get a new guy,
come next fall.

Crushed on Love

Head in the clouds,
feels so good.
Dancing on cloud 9,
just cause you could.

Everything is better,
everythings much brighter,
life moves more easily,
the shadows are all lighter.

Feeling light enough,
to float so far away,
the shadow in your mind saying,
you know that it can't stay.

The time is ticking,
down to the ecstasy's close,
and you know the end is closer,
just from thoughts nobody knows.

Frozen

Standing still
time frozen in place
his face so close
his lips, eyes trace.

A whispered promise,
with sparkling eyes,
A secret smile,
and inside she sighs.

A week later
or a month, a year
two dance alone
boy banishing fear.

Slowly they sway
girls head on his chest
her hair spilling down
eyes closed as in rest.

Lost in the moment,
the smell of each other,
embracing and kissing,
not a thought of another.

The pictures waver,
all the colors start to fade.
The girl awakes wishing,
in a dream she could have staid.
